Quantum Products – a case of interference

Quantum products are based on the behaviour of atoms at the fundamental level – the quantum level. This level can be seen as one below elemental where different elements react with each other otherwise known as chemistry. This fundamental level is the level of atomic nucleus, electron shell, and radiation both electromagnetic (light) and nuclear (particle). For the time being it does not include gravitational waves but the technology is developing very quickly.

Three Quantum Product Classes

In general quantum technologies can be classed into three groups

Quantum Computing – using quantum states to solve computational problems conventional computers can not
Quantum Sensing – using the quantum state of an atom to detect or sense something in the environment
Quantum Communications – using quantum states to communicate information from one place to another
Quantum Cryptography – using quantum states to secure sensitive information

There are other products and there is cross over between products in the above classes but for sake of classification these broad classes help to understand how the over products are developing and using. The key thing here is that quantum products are real, they are in use, and they will only become more important as more products come to market.
